A Kundli is a map of where every planet stood at the moment you were born, drawn from where you were standing. The North Indian chart above is the traditional way to draw it: the twelve diamonds are houses, fixed in place, counted anticlockwise from your lagna at the top. The number in each house is its rashi — the sign occupying it — and the abbreviations are the planets sitting there.
Your lagna (ascendant) is the sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at your birth. It changes roughly every two hours, which is why birth time matters so much: two people born the same day in the same city can have completely different charts if they were born a few hours apart.
Most sites will give you this much and then ask for money to tell you what it means. We give you the chart because the arithmetic is free — what costs anything is the interpretation, and the three further charts a real reading is built on.
Yes, and it needs no account. Your Rashi chart is pure astronomical calculation — it costs us nothing beyond CPU time, so there is no reason to put it behind a signup. The deeper charts and the AI interpretation need an account because each one costs a model call.
You still get a chart. Without a time there is no ascendant to place, so the houses are counted from your Moon instead — the standard fallback every astrologer uses. Add even an approximate time and the lagna is placed properly.
Positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris, the same engine professional astrology software uses, with the Lahiri ayanamsa for sidereal work. The chart you see here is computed the same way as the one inside the app — not estimated, and not written by a language model.
